OUR JOURNEY
Our Journey Through Time
1983: A new chapter begins in Mintaro, SA, as we lay the foundations of our future by acquiring a promising vineyard, setting the stage for a legacy of winemaking excellence.
1984: Mintaro Cellars is born. With its construction on our vineyard, we unveil our first masterpiece, the "Duncan's Block" Cabernet Sauvignon, marking the start of our quest for perfection.
1985: The vineyard whispers to the world through the crisp, refreshing notes of its first Riesling, capturing the essence of our unique terroir.
1987: A year of firsts—our late-picked Riesling, the robust "Jack Hector Tawny Port," and our inaugural Shiraz, each a testament to our innovative spirit and dedication to craft.
1996: Sparkling innovation—our "Anastasia," a Cabernet/Shiraz blend, introduces a new dimension of elegance and celebration.
1998: "Amarant," our pioneering White Port, takes its place among our offerings, becoming a timeless favorite still cherished today.
1999: The reserve collection debuts with "Belle Femme," soon to be joined by the "Leckie Window" collection and the adventurous Flying Doctor Series, marking our foray into the international scene with exports to six Asian countries, including Singapore.
1996-2002: Our passion for excellence sails the high seas as sponsors of the "Secret Men's Business" yacht, a formidable contender in the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race.
2003: The "Monarch of Mintaro" range ascends to the throne, showcasing the regal expressions of Riesling, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon , and a Malbec/Merlot blend, each a monarch in its own right.
2014: A strategic pivot sees us ceasing exports to focus on our roots, introducing the Pinot Gris variety to our esteemed portfolio.
2021: The "Epilogue" is released, a commemorative bottle celebrating our esteemed winemaker's legacy, encapsulating the essence of our journey in every sip.
2023: An era ends and a new one begins as we bid farewell to Mintaro Cellars' physical presence, embracing the digital vineyard with a focus on online and mail order sales, ensuring our wines continue to reach connoisseurs far and wide.
2024: The vine passes to the next generation, infusing our legacy with new energy, a fresh website, and a vibrant presence on social media, promising a future as rich and rewarding as our wines.
